Return Fire and Long Range
What these additional attributes contribute to what a ship does, is not totally clear in the UC manual.
So im hoping people can contribute their opinions on the issue from experiences they've had.
Its commonly thought that return fire means, " a ship does 50% weapon damage back to the attacking ship before it begins its attack phrase or participates in its attack round." So it would technically do 300% weapon damage to opposing ships, while ships with out this attribute would do only 200% weapon damage after both rounds in battle.
Long range is commonly asserted to mean: "A ship can flank." Flanking means that a ship does 100% weapon damage while taking no damage from the attacking ships in return. So its like a free attack.
Its also not clear about a circumstance when a ship with the "flanking" attribute attacks a ship with the "return fire" attribute. Does the ship with the return fire attribute actually return fire. Some people say it does, while others the opposite.
"Cant Return Fire" , is also vague as well, when covered in the manual. Ive seen ships with "cant return fire" return fire, and then other times , they follow the description of the attribute.
"Takes no damage while attacking" (Also known as flanking i believe) What happens when a ship with this attribute attacks a ship, with the "return fire" attribute. Does the ship with the "return fire" attribute, return fire on the ship with the "Takes no damage while attacking" attribute.
Alot of this really isnt clear, so we must try and sort this out through personal experience in battle.
